Admittedly I'm fighting some BGA issues, but as most folks find, Anubias are in algae magnet. I have 75W of HOT5 over a 50G tank so in theory it's not real bright light, but I can grow a lot of different plants in that setup. Also, it's an Excel only tank - no CO2.

My question is this: The Anubias are right out in the open and are growing quickly but seem to grow BGA on them as quickly as the new leaves come out. IF these were planted a bit more in the shade would you expect the algae problems would be a bit less pronounced? I didn't know if algae growth would be expected to slow if the Anubias were in the shade a bit.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
