For the past week I found a few leafs on the surface and after a closer look I see they rote at the base of the rhizomes and fall off.
I use excel every day (3ml) and occasionally add 2.5ml of flourish. My tank is low tech 29 gallon with 31W of T5 HO 6700K bulb set for 6 hours/day.

I also noticed bunch of wholes on my sunset hydro and some of needle leaf java fern turned dark and looks like dead… Tank is planted densely if this matter.

Water conditions:

pH: 7
Nitrate: 0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0

I saw a few folks here use excel only and their tanks look great… Should I start adding ferts?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

with the anubias rot you should cut all the rot out , make sure there are no squishy spots on them and wish for the best.

with the other plants i would think the plants are adjusting with the new parameters.

That sounds like it could be a nutrient deficiency. The holes in the hygro leaves suggests potassium deficiency.
Thanks! I have some dry KNO3, K2SO4 and KH2PO4 as well as Seachem's liquid potassium. Which one should I add and how much for 29 gallon?
