I'm planning attaching my anubias barterii to a piece of rock, but I also want to cover the rock with moss. Should I be concerned about the moss conflicting with the anubias? The rock is a piece of a shelf I'm building to create a raised area. Would it be better to put some substrate on top of the shelf and use a short growing plant to cover the rocks instead? Any advice would be appreciated.

According to the Amano notes, yes you can.
