I'm quite sure it's hair algae & I've been fighting it for at least a month and a half now - It's spread like crazy, then died down a bit when I double dosed Flourish excel for 1.5 weeks......now it's coming back and starting to cover all my substrate!!!

I REALLY need to get rid of this soon - it's driving me bonkers!!!!

Should add:

PH - 6.2
Lighting - coralife 260W
CO2 - New setup x 1 week now @ 1.5 bubble per second
Amonia,Nitrate & Nitrate now - 0

Can I upp the CO2? Would that help?

Thanks again!
Looks like staghorn to me. Not hair.

I am no expert on the topic, but in my co2 tanks it shows up when I leave the lights on too long and underdose potassium and micros (but I have a real heavy bio load to take care of nitrates and phosphates). Again its just my two cents. Increasing micros and K will stop the progress in my tanks almost right away.

If you don't have a heavy bio load to produce nitrates and phosphates you may want to take a different approach. It is definitely an imbalance, but I don't know what. Consider testing your nitrate and phosphate levels and see what you come up with.
