hi i am going to start to put togeather an angel tank

heres my set up that i am planing

i would be worried about the rams... they are a great fish as long as you get them from a good source... I only say this cause i got burned a few weeks ago... I order 20 german blue rams for the store from a guy who i always order from, and the fish barely made it out of the bag before they dropped... I know it wasn't the water, bad batch i suppose... def quarentine them... aside from that, maybe more neons later...

Neons are angels' natural food source. Unless you want to buy neons as feeders, you'll want to get a different, high bodied tetra.

Indeed, many angels will eat small fish like neons when they get big enough to fit them in their mouths. Some don't, but a lot do. Otherwise it sounds good to me...I can't comment on the number of rams, I have never had more than 2 at a time, but I wonder about that many beating each other up a lot? They're fairly aggressive.

I've got 14 Neons w/ my 3 Angels (they're bout med size, 4"). and Neons were added later, after they grew. most of the time they're fine w/ Angels, sometimes they're not. I've also read, if the angels were introduced when they're very small, and grow w/ the Neons, they'll leave them alone when they grow to full size.... I love my Neons!

Cardinals will be an alternative, if you want similar look. but they're pricier, and more sensitive to water condition... g/luck.

Cardinals would be just as likely to get eaten as neons. It's really the size that's an issue; if you've got a predatory angelfish it will eat anything that can fit inside its mouth.

Black skirt tetras, Serpae tetras, Lemon tetras, and Von Rio Flame tetras are all big enough to be safe. I don't know much about tetras, I'm sure others could suggest other species.

When I had my 55 Planted I had a 405 on it and that was plenty of filtration. U dont need the biowheels. Plus if u go Co2 down the road, they not good since they will out gas the Co2.

U can do angels and Neons, but the angels have to be small, and the Neon's have to be bigger. Young neon's will be eaten for sure

Angels can be really cute and sweet to begin with, but then they grow into monsters. I want mine gone, dead or sold...they eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING:

Yes, Angels are no angels.
The list sounds a little overstocked, but you do have good filtration.
RE: 4 angels, problems start when pairs develop, if you actually want to get a pair, you will need to start with more then 2, I would recomend quarter size, not smaller. They will grow, and grow fast 5-6 inches easy, keep that in mind.
Great top wish to keep, will give problems to any other top shish int he tank. Small fish will be a good snack in no time.
Rams are a perfect fish to keep with angels, they tend to stay on the bottom, the gold are not as aggressive as the Blue.
Yes, not easy to get a good batch, some sell them full of steroids, but you can find some natural ones on the net, shouldn't be a problem.
Depending on the size of the corys, 10 would be too much.
I would add a BN and less corys.
Otos are great, make sure they are nice and fat when you buy them, not easy to get good ones.
