And another fish in the bucket...

Im looking for a new fish to add to my Spec V, maybe a schooling fish to make the tank feel a little bit more community like.
I checked out some Chili rasboras, but on aquaticarts they sell them pricey and don't give a certain color, its a mix.
Anyone have any ideas? as to what schooling fish I can/could add as well as where to get them at for best quality and price? also was thinking maybe one Dario Dario?
Current stock is 3 blackfin corys.
Could I get five or six CPD"s with a Dario Dario? im pushing it I know... just a thought. pretty sure that's over stocked. I have double filtration though, HOB with built in filter on the V.

Maybe Exclamation point rasboras? Try to contact Rachel O'Leary (Msjinkzd) she could probably give suggestions, I have met her in person and she is very helpful in suggesting fish.
She sells chili rasboras for $3.50 each, try Aquabid, there is bound be be someone there that is selling chili rasboras for cheaper.

If I was going nano I would do CPDs, glowlight danio, emerald dwarf rasbora, or pseudomugil. Good luck with your search.

Its pretty obvious to me that the Russians have hacked into the US shipping rates also.

Glowlite Danios get as long and are a little stockier than White Clouds. They're definitely not a nano tank candidate either, as they are a bit hyper like Zebra Danios and need room to swim.
I believe msjnx just got a bunch of chili rasbora in too. I ordered some from her in the past. Really nice fish. She accidentally sent me a bunch of dario hysgenon instead of CPDs but made good on it. The dario where more expensive any how. I don't believe I had any DOA. Been a few years but shipping wasn't too bad.

I contacted her Via email so im pretty excited to see what she replies back with.
I asked her basically in a nut shell if she had a Dario Dario, and some CPDs, She has 100 percent positive feedback apparently :) glad about that, not TO expensive either but still pricey. I know that my money is going to a good quality purchase though I hope! :D if I even do get them from her, I also posted like I said on the forum here for CPD's and a single good looking Dario Dario !
Someone hit me up on that btw quick :O
I don't recommend danios for a small tank. Danios need to be in groups of five or more to be happy. Otherwise they bother the other fish. I have eight danios and can tell they'd like a bigger tank than my 65 gallon. They're fast, zippy, and take up a lot of space.

im getting six of them exact if I didn't say that already.. I have seen multiple professional fish keepers (most even on this forum) have them in a five gallon, some the same tank, thriving. Im confident in the fact they will be fine. Also im pretty sure they are only "zippy" when you disturb them. I've heard they are usually pretty casual fish.

Next fish on my wanted list are pygmy corys. My local store got some dario hysginon in but they $12 each and tiny. Look pretty similar to dario dario. Dominant male turns bright red.

kind of blurry

wouldn't mind some chili rasbora or even some neons. Some thing for a splash of color in the tank.
That Dario, looks pretty though still :)
I was never a neon tetra guy, to blue for my own taste. Cardinals are nice IMO though

I find this statement kind of amusing, aren't you the one who is often criticizing others for keeping betta fish in too-small tanks (even tho some people seem to do it successfully)? I have had zebra danios and I agree with @marks_01 and @GrampsGrunge. They are very active fish- in fact I got tired of them because they swim around so nonstop. I had them in a 20L and can't picture keeping them in a 10 (just like I would not keep kuhli loaches or otocinclus in a ten- in spite of their small size their need for companions/room dictates otherwise IMHO). Maybe CPDs are calmer and stay smaller, but going by the activity and size of glowlite danios I've seen at the stores, those need a decent sized tank.

Well to my research, and if you have read my other posts, they can thrive in a five gallon, I went with different options though which you didn't know. I decided to go with some Chili Rasboras, My accusations had nothing to do with this thread. And I still think that CPD's can thrive in a five gallon due to all my research and people on this forum who have done this.
CPDs yes, I concede that- have seen it myself and they looked fine. It's the other danios- the larger zebras and glowlites that I meant.

I never considered anything other than CPD's and DD (and Chili's) so that comment was pointless, we were talking about someone/something else. "Conversation," apparently these things don't exist on a forum and people cant read sometimes. Not saying just you. gramps grunge already stated that zebra danios (which I didn't see come up anywhere but thanks for saying that, i mean they get like 3" to the eye) aren't suitable, because someone else suggested them i guess.
