I have been growing anacharis in my 3 gal at work with no problem.

I took some home and planted it in my 29 gal with 59w compact florescent 6700k.

All of the plants are growing great but when they reach a certain height they all are growing sideways. It's at the same height so i'm thinking it might have something to do with the lighting.

Do you guys think it's too much or too little light for these plants.

my tank is 18.5 inches high.

The bulb doesn't reach across the whole tank but the reflector seems to push it everywhere.

I have plants on both sides of the tank and the others are doing the same thing if that's any clue.

The lighting should be fine for Anacharis growth.

What you are seeing is likely the Anacharis growing towards the brighter parts of the tank (phototaxis). Unfortunately, there's really no way around this, unless you can get more even lighting.
