In order to make my triple-moss wall grow out quicker in my 2.5g, I have the light in front of the tank all this month for better light penetration through the grid. Would you believe that my cherry shrimp swim sideways until I turn the light off? Their orientation seems to be both via gravity (because they swim upright at night) but overridden by light in the day. This is fine, considering that the position of the sun is always "up", but it looks pretty funny seeing them cruise along sideways.... :icon_lol:

That's one of the coolest aquarium-related observations I've ever heard of. I'm going to try and replicate it with my shrimp.

Ok, just double-checked the date, and no, it's not April Fool's Day yet... Hmm... A screw it, I'm turning my light sideways.

My endlers swim sideways if the light is shining through the side when I take it off the tank.

Most fish do this also. I noticed it when I had a point-source of light over my aquarium. All the fish would "tilt" so that their dorsal fins would point at the light.

Really weird.

OK, that's it I'm gonna take out my substrate and glue my lighting rig on the bottom. It'll turn my 'upside down' catfish right side up.
