I jst picked 4 of these guys up for my newly planted 55g. Within 2 hours I had skins everywhere. Is this normal?

Yes they are molting. 0perfectly normal and will happen as they grow

mine molt shortly after water changes typically, I wouldnt be worried

How often do they molt and is it something I need to clean out of tank or will it just be eaten? Never had shrimp and was just a fluke that the store had some so I snatched a few up. They biggest fish I'll have are probably odessa barbs. These guys are pretty cool and wouldn't mind some others. Think they will be ok with the barbs? I'll prob want to wait tili get more plants so there are more hiding places?

I leave them in there they eat it all up pretty quick, less than 12 hours for my tanks usually!

the shells are fine for them to eat. adds some calcium to there diet.
