I got 10 amano shrimps just this past weekend.

I put 3 in my 2.5g nano today, and they are clearing the green algae like there is no tomorrow. The amano shrimp is like a mechanical algae-lawn-mower!

So here's two thumbs up to Amano for discovering this amazing shrimp!

I put 6 amanos in to my 5.5gal and they had the hair algae that has been plaguing my moss cleaned up overnight. Now my favorite critters.

Our 6 amano shrimps completely ate $15 worth of mini pellia in a week time. I think they also ate some of our Xmas moss too. May be we should feed them more often. Have this ever happened to anyone else?

They'll eat the tips of my hairgrass if they're hungry.

I have such bad luck with cleaners.
they all get lazy on me too quickly,
while I feed my tanks so sparingly.

I'll have to give Amanos another
chance once I figure out how to
keep them from trying to escape.
I prefer my open top tanks
