Algae Solution for Amazon Biotope

Does anyone know of any aquatic species that can help stop algae blooms. I would preferred to find a species that is not a fish such as crabs or shrimp although Amazon crabs are rare due to insufficient minerals to build shells and shrimp cannot currently be shipped down into the UK. My secondary option would be to find a fish that could help control algae but please take into consideration that this is an extremely small tank. Thank you in advance.

I caught one of my angelfish eating string algae once...I think he saw the SAE's doing it so he tried it.

Bushynose plec will eat it off the glass, but that's about it I think.
Oh haha cool. Yeah I was thinking about a bushy nose plec though would one be to shy to go near the glass. I hear they just hide under a rock most the time. Thanks.

Mine generally comes out at night, but they stick to cover most of the day. Usually on the back glass
Oh thanks I think I'll go for a bristlnose then. Should I keep more than one?? And still open for suggestions.

If you have an "extremely small" tank, a bristlenose will be way too big.

How big is the tank?

What other inhabitants are in it?
