Hey everyone,

I was hoping someone might be able to help out. I bought an algae scrapper from one of my online plant stores and it didn't come with any blades.

I went to the hardware store and nothing they have fits.

The scrapper I have is similar to this - https://www.amazon.ca/Aquarium-Alga...d-search-10&pf_rd_t=BROWSE&pf_rd_i=6292462011

Does anyone know what kind of blades you use in this style of scrapper??

Thanks.

Buy the one that's designed for your scraper. Usually there will be a brand name on the handle. If not, surely it's on the packaging. I sell a couple different scrapers at my shop and the ones I'm familiar with come with a blade. Odd that anyone would market those completely separately.

The one you linked to should pretty much fit any double-edge razor blade commonly used for shaving.

You know, something like this - https://www.amazon.com/Double-Edge-Razor-Blades-Stainless/dp/B07Q1JNPRH

I don't recommend using this style of scrapers, they can leave fine scratches in glass. I'd just grab some plastic credit card with a high limit...

Thanks for the replies guys. The scrapper didn't come with any blades and they actually seemed surprised when I asked what blades fit.

I never thought to use the double sided safety razor blades. That would make sense.

Appreciate the help!!!

Any double or single edge razor blade will work. Don't use any plastic as that will actually scratch the glass as many have found out during winter trying to clear their windshields of ice.
