Hi guys,

These started growing in my 10 gallon planted tank. There seem to be at least 3 kinds of algae growing. I'm guessing the hairy stuff is brown hair algae and on the glass is diatoms but I could be wrong and the brown hair could be green hair instead. There are also some brown algae on the substrate too (slimy ones). This is a month and a half old tank.

Could you please help me out here?

P.S. The java fern looks bad because that is how I received them and I have been trying to regrow some nice leaves since then. :)

The stuff on the glass will take care of it's self. It is common in new tanks.
You let the Java Fern out of water too long. If there are any new leaves without that damage on them cut off the damaged leaves. The algae behind that plant is not close enough or clear enough to say for sure but in general you look like you have too much light and should cut the hrs on it to 7 at the most.
Exactly what lights ?
