I believe the light intensity is too high. Can you dim these lights, or maybe raise them higher above the tank?
Thank you, I cannot dim the lights or raise them as they come, but I could DIY something, currently use a polycarbonate sheet as a lid which I guess will defuse it somewhat, may have to attach something onto the light to block a bit more perhaps.

3 day blackout.
Followed by a 50% water changes.
Clean filter.
Keep doing 50% water changes at least once a week. Throw in some amano shrimp and cut back on feeding.
Keep up with keeping the tank pristine and it will go away in time.
I currently am at 75% weekly water changes whilst the tank is stabilising.
Also only feeding the 4 neon tetras a very minuscule amount of flake, they aren’t going to be the permanent residents, I put them in after the cycle to keep it all alive whilst the plants grew out ready for my Betta to move in.
I’ll give the tank a full deep clean tomorrow and filter also, if it’s the same for next week I’ll do a blackout over Friday night till Sunday night.
Also will try an try to diffuse the intensity of the lights afterwards, never done a blackout before so I’m guessing keep everything running except ferts and co2 and just cover with a towel for 72 hours then clean and general maintenance as usual?

Have put a strip of black tape from one end to the other, roughly covering 1/3 of the led’s so should be around 30% decrease in intensity theoretically
