doing huge water changes nearly every 2 days and have huge water flow, have had to adjust the flow so the plants dont look like they are hanging on for dear life.

Asked a local fish store and they seem to think its the phosphates ( im yet to check )

hopefully this will solve the problem but i am not holding my breath

i got this algae that was brought in by some new plants. I tried everything to get rid of it, reduce the light, set light on for only 3 hrs, a 4 day black out. no fertilizer and nothing got rid of it until i overdose excel 3x with a 50% water change every 3 days, It usually clear up after the second overdose but i did it up to four time just incase. It never came back after i clear it up.

if you find excel is alittle to harsh you can use hydrogen peroxide too which should work as good just search this forum about hydrogen peroxide dose which you can buy at any grocery store.
