So I've got a low tech setup - 20g, 26W lighting, weekly fertilizer - I've just removed the DIY CO2 since CO2 fluctuations are causing periodic algae and the added hassle isn't worth the added growth. So I have a pretty stable setup, but I find over a long period of time, 3+ months there is an inevitable buildup of algae on my plant leaves, such as my amazon sword, where I can't get the algae off the leaves... This leads to reduced exposed leaf surface area and the algae gets a stronger foothold... Any ideas on how to control the slow long term growth of algae on plant leaves? Or how to get it off the leaves such as an amazon sword safely?
