just after some suggestions for algae eating fish
i have soft green algae on leaves and some hair algae...
these cannot go into the tank :siamese algae eaters ,amano shrimp [eaten by altums]
i dont want anything thats gonna grow large than 4 inches

i think maybe a large school of ottos may be my best option..about 30 ?
ive got 10 in there now i also have 3 Ruby Nerite Snails but they dont seem to do stems and small leaves...
im also considering may be some kind of ancistrus ..maybe Tiger-banded Peckoltia (Peckoltia vittata) but id like to know that it wont interfere with the plants or altums ? [http://www.aquariumfish.com/aquariumfish/Breed_Profiles.aspx?aid=6250&cid=3680&search=

also does anyone know which corydoras have a gold/bronze coloured body id like to get some ?

Ottos seem to do a pretty good job on soft algae in my angel tank, but don't seem to touch hair algae (I think I've seen the angels pull at it more than the ottos).
I have kept small plecs with them before and had no problems, but can't remember how well they attacked the algae.

Florida flag fish (Jordanella floridae), Butterfly
Goodeid (Ameca Splendens ), and Procatopus are all known to eat red algae (black brush) as well as other algae. Not sure about all sizes, but J.floridae grows up to 6cm as stated by badmanstropicalfish.com.
