Now, I bought a Milwaukee Controller with a silonoid to shut off the pressurized Co2 in my 150 planted tank.

The saleman mentioned that he would have a airstone come on in the middle of the night, to help get rid of any over abundance of c02 that might be toxic to the fish.

My question is..im not sure if he knew he sold me the PH controller, not realizing what he had told me about the air stone..

Should I discontinue the air stone? since I have the PH controller? My tank has stayed at 6.6 on a regular basis, but when the airstone comes on (timer) it raises the PH a little bit and starts the Co2

suggestions?

i dont bother with an airstone. i just make sure that there is a little bit of disturbance on the surface of the water. and i dont time it. my whole system runs like that 24/7

When You say a little bit of disturbance, Is a dual bio wheel to much disturbance at one end of the tank? Either that or I could position one of the outlets from one of two canister filters upward a little to creat turbulance.

no i dont have biowheels i think that they off gass way too much co2. i have a powerhead aimed towards the surface. enough to cause rippling but not really break the surface. you could do that with the outlet from your canister

I'd run both. Never hurts to have a backup, especially b/c if the pH controller fails (which isn't uncommon!) it could mean mass fish death otherwise.
