Hey guys i have searched around and as i can find discussion on the AI freshwater light i can't on the reef light.

I aquired a AI 32 hd reef light in a bundle i bought for very cheap and was wondering if anyone was using these lights for there freshwater planted tanks. if so what is your lighting blend that is bringing you success?

Not that specific light but I have tried to repurpose reef lights to several freshwater applications and with planted they never quite managed to grow things well, other than algae, without the addition of red spectrum. Personal observations, I have no scientific explanation. They do make african cichlid tanks look pretty cool though lol

It's my understanding that reef lights are more specifically focused on blue lighting and do not contain the red lighting plants need.

I used two of those on my planted tank. You just need to turn down/off the blues and violets.
