Hey all. I need some advice on two aspects.
1) I'm getting green algae on my rocks and driftwood. How should I control it? Less lights? I currently have one albino bridtlenose (just a little baby) and three otos. They don't seem to be doing much. I also had a whole school of cherry shrimp and they seemed to keep it at bay but since adding the rainbow fish they've become extinct in my tank :(. Should I add more Otos or maybe another pleco? I dose daily with flourish excel and do root tabs. Also flourish comprehensive weekly.

2) I am trying to start a small forest of hair grass but I can't seem to keep it in one place with the flow I have going. So you have any suggestions looking at the tank where i could move it? Tank is relatively new so plants are still quite small. I'm also thinking of getting some hornwort because I hear it's great at keeping algae growth down but I've had trouble with it before. It kept filling my filter wih little needles. I run a aqua clear 110 hob and a fluval cp3 (740 GPH) circulation pump on the opposite end. Maybe my circulation pump is too big? Everything else but the grasses seem happy with it. I've got vallisnera on the end next to the pump and it's attracted to it but seems ok so far.

Well first if those are regular swords they will get as tall as the tank so right up against the front glass might not work after they grow out a bit. How long that will take I don't have the exp to say.
Duration of the light is the main growing power of algae. But you didn't mention what light you had or what that other pump is besides the Fluval or HOB.
Obviously putting the grass right in front of the outlet for the water is causing an issue
for it. But it will grow in the direction of the light so why can't you just move it forward
a bit to let the water pass behind it ?
It is a personal choice type of thing but I would use one of those pumps. An HOB
dropping down in a convetional fashion on one end with the Hydor on the other end is plenty...but the personal choice thing does apply still.
Considerig how tall the tank is a Crypt Balanees woul look nice in there.

Lights are finnex fug planted.2x20".
Pet store told me those swords were dwarfs. Dunno!
I tried the grass forward too but it gets pushed no matter where. If I go to other side of tank it gets sucked towards the circulating pump. I only have the one hob and one pump. I have a skimmer attached to the hob.
