So a couple weeks ago I bought a baby betta at petco on a whim. I told myself I would only buy dog food...
Any how, he(or so I think) looked really healthy in his cup compared to the other 3 babies. He looked dark brown with red fins.
Two weeks later he is purple, with a purple to red fin color fade, with blue ribs in them. Hr looks amazing now. Hes living in a 10gal, low tech, med planted. With 6 panda cory, 2 pgmy cory and one hasboras(sp?) cory.
Heres where it gets interesting. Ive caught him several times, especially with the lights off, hanging out in cory pack on the bottom. Just like hes another cory.
Hes a monster when it comes to eating. Comes to the front of the glass when ever im close to the tank, as if to beg for food. I feed live blood worms to all my fish, including the cory's. Now I can't feed them worms because he stuffs himself trying to eat them all.
Then 2 days ago he went for a ride threw my siphon during water change day. All my other fish stay far away from the vac, but not this dip [censored][censored][censored][censored]. He lost almost all his scales from his nose to dorsal fin. Plus Im pretty sure part of the dorsal fin is gone. He acted like his happy self still.
Today, 2 days later he is almost completely healed. You can barely tell anything happened.
If you like bettas, and have never raised a baby, I highly recommend it.
Anyone else have a story about these little guys?
