Absolutely silent canister for 20L *update*

Eheim classic 2213.

IME all the Eheim Classics are totally silent. I have an Ecco that is not, though.

I can say that the Fluvial 206 is NOT silent.

Rena XPs are quiet, but not silent.

SunSun HW-302 is quiet. Not silent though.

Hmm my fluval 206 is completely silent. The only time it makes sound is if I raise the outflow above the water. I also always make sure to rid the canister of all the air whenever I do maintenance by tilting it side to side several times. As with any product though results will vary since manufacturing tolerances vary somewhat from one product to another so even with the exact same two filters one could be loud while the other is silent.

This. If an Eheim Classic is making noise it either hasn't been primed properly, or hasn't had the media cleaned in the past two or three years.

I plan on building my cannisters and pumps into a soundproof box inside the base cabinet. All my equipment is quiet, but nothing is silent and all together it would at least make an audible hum.

Few sheets of 3/4" foam and they should be silent

2224 eheim. Dead silent. Can't even hear it running even if you put your ear on it.

Another vote for the Eheim 2213. I have one on a tank next to my wife's desk and she hates irritating noises. No complaints from her.

I don't think there is a silent filter exist. You may get one close to silent. Eheim is one of the choice.

i have to say my fluvial 206 is silent too

Ehiem Classics. Got (2) 2211s & (2) 2213s. Late nite when there's no TV, AC or fans, it's complete silence! :bounce:

2215 is right next to my office chair. I can't hear it.

I have the Eheim Classic 2213 and unless I put my ear right on it, I hear nothing...and what I am hearing when my ear is pressed up to it is probably just water moving through the filter media.

Got my 20 Long setup and i did as i was told and got the eheim 2213, couldnt be happier. its is handily the most quiet filter ive ever seen. I can hear my co2 diffuser over the filter.
