I have a CO2 system, and want to grow high light plants. The dimensions on the 90 Gallon are:

23" tall by 39 Wide by 25" Deep

A friend told me to buy Hagen Glo T5's. I have the following questions:

Are these overpriced?
What fixtures and bulbs are the best bang for the buck?
How many would I need?
Where's the best place to buy?
How long do the bulbs last before they need to be replaced?

Try these places if your looking for a fixture n I'm sure they'll have retrofit kits if you want to go that route: http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/index.php?cPath=71

Depends what you want to spend. As far as how low they last ?? How long is a piece of string?? kind of an open ended question depends how long you want to run em' I've heard talks of recommended replacement 1yr. 18mnths

Check around on old threads I'm sure you"ll find more answers.

I'd rather not retrofit. So, 4 bulbs? Yes I'm asking about their usable life. Not how long they'll still light, but how long they'll continue to give out the right kind of light.

Not sure about the fixtures (see other replies) but the bulbs are a good value. DrsFosterSmith has the PowerGlo (purple hue) and LifeGlo (6700K) on sale right now. I wish they had a 10000K flavor of them. They last a long time... probably around 2 years.
