Hello everybody, I just finished up building my 90g canopy on my new tank and I thought I'd share some pictures so maybe it could help someone else or give them some ideas. This project cost under $100 and the canopy has tons of room for lights. The design of the frame allows me to use glass tank covers to stop evaporation and reduce humidity inside the canopy.

It looks nice and quality built. My only complaint is it doesn't look like it is easy to access for routine maintenance or rescape. From the look, you'll have to remove the canopy to do any maintenance or scape.

Thanks! It may be hard to tell by my crapy smartphone pics but I made the canopy 10" tall for extra room to do maintainence. I can reach every bottom corner of the tank but I am 6' 3" so the design might not be good for everyone. I can do anything short of adding or removing driftwood without pulling the canopy. I recently made a temporary fan controller out of old computer parts I had in storage. It consists of a 120v to 12v transformer, diode bridge rectifier, DC voltage regulator, and a smoothing capacitor. I'm currently using two small nearly silent video card fans to circulate the air around the lights. One of these days when I'm not working 80hrs a week (I'm an industrial electrician by trade) I will install some 80mm fans into the removable back panel to pull out the hot air and put the electronics in a sealed box. As of now the ambient temp inside the canopy is about 85 degrees and I think I can live with that for now.
