My 75g has 15 cardinals and 25 ember tetras. (Plus a solid clean up crew).
Something's missing.

The two species school separate and look great. But unsure what to add. Rams were a tad hard on the little embers, other mixed tetras added too much confusion.

Any ideas what else would suit this tank? Or just adding more of the same? Thanks!

I think I would look at upper level fish.
Hatchets (covered tank only), Gouramis (but some eat shrimp), Glass catfish (not actually top, but mine hung out near the top in the flow from the filter return)

Clean up crew includes a dozen amano shrimp, several twig cats, several otos, a bristlenose and a clown pleco...

Hatchets are a great idea, will look them up, thanks!

Wow that is a lot of loricariids! and i agree with Diana that upper level fish would be a good idea. Some other ideas are lampeye killifish(top-mid water) and clown killifish(also top to mid water).

Harlequin Rasboras are generally mid to upper level fish, and would provide a nice contrasting shape & coloration with Cardinals & Embers.

I like Cherry barbs,I have two males and three females and they spend the whole day chasing each other and doing the nasty in the penny wort.
