65 Gallon Sump Filter

1292 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Plantz
Hi, First of all I am new to TPT, I have been reading alot of threads for the past couple of weeks and have learned alot. Presently I have a 35 gallon planted tank, 25 gallon guppy/platy tank, 65 gallon goldfish, 65 gallon reef tank, 100 gallon deck pond. This is a really good site. I purchased a used 65 gallon tank last weekend and I want to move my 35 planted tank into it. I drilled the tank out last night and here is what I came up with for the sump. I have read alot about the pro and cons of a sump. This is the way I would like to go. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for now, Al

29 views and no comments - everyone must be busy - I am a bit disappointed there is alot of good information on this site.
Welcome!
Never used or built a sump although I am thinking about trying it out as a means to filter many shrimp tanks. Design looks good to me a far as the little research I have done. Good luck with the build.

Thank you, didn't mean to sound so harsh, this is a great forum - I look forward to learning alot from everyone.
Hi everyone, iwas hoping to get some feedback on this sump design, I have really enjoyed this forum so far you guys/gals have some beautiful tanks, inspiring. I thought I would put this back up and i hope to get a few more comments back, thank you for now look forward to hearing back from someone.
you probably didnt get much response because not everyone click on new post and this is stuck in the canada section that doesnt have alot of traffic.

i think you sump looks good, maybe over doing it a bit. but if that is what you want then that is all that matters. :D there are some people here that use a sump as well and it seem to work just as good as other kind of filtration
Thank you, I didn't realize it was in that section. I am hoping to perhaps run two tanks side by side with this sump, I have a 40 gallon breeder I would like to put next to it. Is there anyway I can put this in another section, I really do like this forum TPT I have learned so much, guess i should not have gotton so disappointed so fast. Thanks again.
