Well i thought I would start a thread with my new build. I am new to here so bear with me. I have a 65 gallon tank, I want it to be a high tech planted.
T5HO lighting - 5 or 6 24" by 39watts
substrate - black Flourite and Black Carib Sea Sand
Filter - Sump DIY with Rio 12HF pump
Eventually CO2 tank

Here are some pictures to start - I built the sump and overflow and spray bars.

Very nice build so far! The only problem I can see with it is the sump with CO2. Sump + Pressurized CO2 = No CO2/CO2 Gassed Out
I am going to try to cover the sump and reduce the off gasing as much as I can. I did read alot on this forum about it. Might just use Flourite excel to start. I like fact that with a sump you can hide a lot of the equipment. I hope to have water in this tank by the weekend, i will finish the stand once everything is running, I am moving everything I have in a 35 gallon planted tank. Thanks for your reply.
On the eurbracing on the sump I drilled holes for the return line - drain line from the DT and a backup drain line so i can put a cover on the sump and not have to fight with the drain and return lines.
this is a great start im following this one!

Now I am feeling the pressure, I have seen so many beautiful buils on this site I just hope I can get this one to look half as good. Thanks for the encouragement.

In that case, you are fine!

Update - I changed the existing plug with a GFCI and i added a pond liner for the bottom of the stand just to keep any spills off the hardwood floors. Got a sweet deal at our local pond place 10buck for a piece 3'x9'. Let me know what you all think. Thanks for looking again.

I would really like some feed back - thanks for looking
Looks nice. Is that a sword in the right front? I have a sword that resembles that, except it has pointed tips. It is a center piece in my 65 gallon tank. It reaches the top of the tank.

I'm looking to buy cpd's if you sell some of your fry.

Thanks for the reply - yes that is a type of sword so is the one on the left, CPD's just got in the tank don't no if many fry will survive, if I had some extras I would certainly send them to you. Thanks again
Congrats on the CPD's spawning! I like the sword a bunch. The tank will be lovely when it grows in a bit. :)
