I just decide what direction to go in here. It's going to look very similar to the ADA style stands.

Solid Poplar(greenish w/purple highlights) or mat-grey finish? I'm leaning towards the Poplar at the moment.

Poplar. If you're leaning towards it. You can always sand out and redo a darker color. Textured paint is pretty hard to remove if you don't like it. I once painted my dorm room fridge with a grey textured paint...it looked like a granite fridge afterwards...hahaha...long time ago...

I like the grey look. The all white also sounds good and will be something new.

If your using the poplar you will want to do a good job sanding or use a sanding sealer. Poplar can be splotchy when stained.

Go for the poplar. I have a stand meant for a 5 gallon that's done ADA style with wood veneer and it's awesome.

Cool. I guess I get to go the harder route and go with the poplar. It should look pretty good with a green tank.
