Hey guys I have a new tank from my cousin that is 5x2x2. I posted a thread awhile back saying it wasy 6x2x2 but I meant 5x2x2. I think thats about 150 gallons. Well I have a MH set up thats 2x175 and a 55w and 96 wat pc bulbs. That would be equal to 501 watts. Do you guys think it would work if I just use the MH and the 55 watt bulb only? The tank is not that tall Im planning to hook the MH set up to the ceiling. I also have Co2 injected which I would hope help if I dont use the 96 watt one.

MHs have an effective coverage area of 2'x2'. With this setup, you'll have dark spots in your tank. The 55w or 96w bulbs won't span the entire length of the tank either.

What you could possibly do is mount the 55W in the middle and have the MHs a little closer to the outer edges of the tank. But that'll lead to uneven lighting.
