Hi guys!
New to the forum and new to the hobby!
Please excuse any noobness...
My ultimate goal here is to create a community predator tank! Haha I know that's a bit contradicting but I'm trying to raise all these juveniles together in hope of a little civilization. This is a grow out tank so hopefully everyone can somewhat get a long until they're all ready to be moved.
So here is my current juvenile stock list. Purchased in order
1. Jack Dempsey
2. Festae
3. Convict
4. Firemouth
5. Salvini

So far the firemouth is showing the most aggression but I think he's just trying to prove himself. Ha
I'm not sure how long these cichlids will last in a 55gl before they start demanding more room. Any idea?!
I'm not done aquascaping but I'm in the process so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Filtration:
Fluval 404
whisperX45 HOB
(also adding a sump soon w/ refugium)

Substrate:
Pool Filter sand

Decor:
Malaysian Driftwood
**Suggestions on rocks to create multiple hiding spots??

Plants:
I definitely want it to be planted and will do what it takes to make this work! I am aware that cichlids love to dig and uproot.
*** suggestions and advice plsss
I have a few plants picked out but would like experienced input

Lighting:
Shopping for a 48" t5 w/ led moon lights & timer

Hmmm
Lets hear it!
