Just curious about your sundew. Doesn't it have to have a dormant winter period? I know my venus flytraps need one and I actually put them in the fridge for three months during the winter. Don't know about sundews though.

That's a gem alright
Thanks. It has turned into a fun scape to garden as it has filled out.

I am not sure if the sundws need a dormant winter period. I have since pulled the sundew out and have it growing in a bowl. Even the hardier sundews needs fairly pure water, no more than 150 tds. My fish load is higher now, and the tank was requiring weekly water changes to keep the capensis happy. I like keeping water changes at once or twice a month on this tank.

Awesome tank! Making want to try a background like that. The ledge with the crypts looks really cool. What kind of plumbing were you referring to in the background>?

On the far left, there is room for filter intakes behind the background with a small cut-out covered in stainless steel mesh. On the far right, there is room for a filter out-flow with an opening through the backdrop. It kind of looks like a small cave in the false rock.

Fall 2014 Update: now with frogs

Here are some photos to accompany the 2014 video update on my 50g paludarium. Three fire belly frogs are living in it at the moment, so the terrestrial area is getting some use finally.

First a couple pictures of what I thinned from the tank before the update:

A few questions on the process=
Is there a difference between regular expanding foam and outdoor expanding foam?
What brand of foam would you recommend?
Does the foam stick to the glass walls of the aquarium or does it need to be anchored once sprayed on and dry?
Is there a product other than cement to coat the foam as i dont want to buy 100lb bag of cement and end up only using a pound or two.
I guess once into the spraying of the foam and applying the cement i can presumably say goodbye to this tank ever being an aquarium again?
Thanks
