50 Gallon-started August 16, 2011
This is my first planted tank and I decided to keep this journal.

OK NOW LETS START THE JOURNAL
so i had to put a fish tank into the wetbar and decided on a 50 gallon.

FILTERS:
Eheim 2213 canister -running
Fluval 204 canister - running
Aquaclear 110-on order

LIGHTS: 2 STRIPS
18" AQUAEON 15watt 8000K each

SUBSTRATE:
Eco-Complete 60lbs- on order

HEATER:
Eheim-jager 200w submersible- on order

DRIFTWOOD:
4 Pieces Manzanita Driftwood--on order

Was only planing to go community fish because tank is in basement.
I have only been looking into planted aquariums for about 2-3 weeks now and saw a video on youtube and from there I was hooked.

going to look into sponge pre-filters next
and reading alot of the post about the plants-low/light-tech
not planning on CO2 for now

doing a fishless cycle for now
adding a couple flakes of food everyday
read somewhere that an airstone will speed things up
PUMP and AIRSTONE-on order

Just got hit with Hurricane Irene and i will assume everything will now take another couple days.

Cant wait to get everyhting in so that i can order plants.

That sucks on the filter, very interesting substrate setup.

maybe when i put the manzanita i'll decide

Manzanita Driftwood is finally waterlogged but will soak it 2 more days
before i add it to the tank to get more tannins out
