Hey Everyone, this is my first post here on the forum. I've been using information here quite a bit since I started in the aquarium keeping hobby, and particularly in the planted tank hobby about a year ago now.
I've had this little betta since the beginning and he has moved around through a few tanks now. I finally settled him in an Aquatop Zen 5 gallon I bought on craigslist.
I didn't really get any pictures while I was setting it up today, but I have a few of the final abode. Pretty simple setup, I think, but I hope he'll be happy in there. You can just barely see him in the pictures hanging out in the back corner of the tank. He's usually not so shy, but this was right after I added him, so maybe tomorrow he'll be swimming about freely.
The more I look at the over-all picture, the less I like my arrangement, haha. I might shift that lava rock to the left and move some of the small plants to the right, giving a downward slope effect to the mid-foreground. I'll post some pictures again if I change my scape.
Anyone know how well that cardinal plant will spread out? Based on how I got it, tangled roots together, it seems like it sends our runners. Maybe if I trim it to induce horizontal growth instead of vertical?
Do let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions or questions!
Thanks for looking!
