My second tank, still young and growing, it was started up in August 2010.
Angelfish, Killifish, Tiger Barbs, Leporinus

So it started like a lot of peoples tanks....Craigslist!

As it is my second planted tank i have learned that substrate is very important, though not completely necessary as my 55 is pretty successfully planted with just bulk pebbles. For this tank i decided on Flourite Black.. I also got a Marineland Canister filter for it.... such a good deal on craigslist turned into $300 real quickly

Slowly the tank takes shape

Did you get your plants online, or does your LFS actually have that good of a selection? All mine sell locally are anacharis and half dead sword plants.

Same here, lots of both but that's about it.

Very nice tank.

Have you noticed any nipping between the tiger barbs and the angelfish?
All my plants came from trimmings from my 55 gallon tank and my buddy gave me trimmings from his tank, my LFS sucks for plant supply, though i did get the Wisteria from them originally.

I dont used pressurized CO2, i just dose Metricide everyday
and no problems with the angels being nipped at by the barbs, as it turns out, when you have a large group of barbs they just nip at eachother and chase each other around the tank, it's when you have 1 or 2 that they start to nip at the others, i've had problems in the past, but nothing now
My light is a 36" HagenGLO 39w X2 with a Hagen PowerGLO bulb and a coral life Colourmax Bulb
