41 Days is all it took for a female Tiger Shrimp to go from birth to fully mature shrimp. Yesterday, after observing this group of shrimp from birth, I noticed the first (and second) female to be berried.

I have been started to observe all the shrimp species I have to see how fast they develop, and have been tracking them on my Dwarf Shrimp Blog.

It is a little surprising to me how fast the Tiger Shrimp grew to maturity. I figured it would be 50 or more. But hey, I am not upset by it at all!

Not too surprising, but a bit. Please keep track until the batch is born to see if 3months was correct on the life cylce. Seems so, so far.

My Tiger Shrimp aquarium is an AGA 5.5-gallon aquarium. It has a hang on back filter with a sponge pre-filter. The substrate is ADA Aquasoil Amazonia, and is moderately planted with Vals and Mosses.
Seems like a very small tank. Can you post more information on it? Maybe FTS?

Thanks for the work!

Good info and thanks for posting it. It would be very good for folks new to shrimp to have this information available for each shrimp species before trying to raise them themselves.

Cheers, Bill
It isn't that small for the 10 Tigers and 10 Yellows that are in there.

I don't have a FTS because all that is visible of the aquarium in one small side. It is part of my breeding rack that holds 25 aquariums, and it is stuffed in there pretty good!

Well yellows are a bit smaller I guess.. I have around 20 Black Diamonds in my 10g and it seems a bit full IMO.

Do you have pictures of your setup? Sounds interesting!
