So the tank is doing really well. I still haven't added pressurized Co2 yet. But aside from the lower leaves dieing on my R.goias and the colors not being quite what they could be. Nothing seems to mind not having it yet. Here are some pics

I removed a whole bunch of plants and I just ordered some more S.repens to fill in the foreground. Sorry the pics aren't the greatest I'm going to take better ones when the repens are planted.

Cool looking tank, I have a 40b too and am thinking of going the dirt route. Did you use mineralized soil or potting mix straight out of the bag? With the dirt does it cloud up the water much? How long have you had your tank up and running. Thanks

Thanks. I used finely sifted organic compost that I wet down for a few days in a tub then dried out. Then I added filter sand got it dame and piled it in there. There is quite a bit in there. And the tank has been running for exactly two months. I'm very pleased with the method so far. And I haven't had any real problems with it at all yet. Other than wish I had bought 36" lights not 30".
I'm think of maybe removing a few more plants. What do you think
I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I'd share a new FTS. I've been messing around with the plants in this tank forever it seems. And I really like the way it's looking right now. Except for the back corners. I'm going to change those plants out until I find something that looks right. Anyway here's the new pic it's kinda messy because I'm going to trim a few things in the next couple days. I'll post an after pic when I do.
