Plant Wood Twig Glass Rectangle

Rectangle Purple Violet Magenta Font

Hey everyone posting here to ask about stocking levels what could I add to this tank along with the fish mentioned in the photo I’m still cycling so I have a bit of time to decide, I’m thinking some shrimp? but any other suggestions for algae eaters are welcome. Would I be able to add another school of fish with this stocking level maybe some lemon tetras or molly?
Any plants you’d put in for extra cover? a LFS I went to for the first time had a lot of full grown plants so I could get some extra cover but wanted suggestions first. Thanks to anyone that reply’s second planted tank first was a 15 gallon so any help is welcome!!

The gourami will probably mercilessly hunt down and eat any shrimp (at least in my own experience). I just started a 40g breeder my self and some of the inhabitants I have in there are BN plecos. Theres a couple different morphs and you already have driftwood in there for them.

I am setting up a similar tank. My goal is South American biotope-type planted aquarium. Dwarf cichlids in pairs, terra cotta pots or caves for each pair, large schools(s), 12 or more, tetras. Else 2 dozen of one type. Half a dozen corys, small pleco only when algae actually appears and I can't control it. Alternative dream tank: Congo tetras, African dwarf cichlids (Kribensis), clean-up crew. No fish yet until nitrogen cycle proven; prefer algae on a clean rock first. My first tank in about 40 years,
