have you tested the water? I'd be curious to what the ph levels are in the water. I've been thinking of re scaping my planted tank but not sure what substrate I want to use. I'm not impressed with the laterite layer product. It's been running for 5 years now.
ph is at 6.5 atm this is my first dirted tank i have a nd in fisheries management but dirt tanks are new and intriguing to me any ideas onb the fauna anybody??
Well with such a long tank you can have some pretty good swimmers.

Maybe 8 Rasboras, 8 cories, and some ottos? And maybe a pair of brightly colored show fish like Rams?
i gt 4 shrimp 5 neons and 2 bristlenose catfish at the mo stocked today i was thinking peppered cories and are rams aggresive??? i think i read somewhere they will eat shrimp
day two and the tank has cleared up alot and i already have fresh grow on two plant 1 day after planting thought it would take longer
