40 Breeder Low Light Build

I am trying to decide how to light a 40 Breeder project that I am putting together. It will be a low light tank. I will not be running CO2, just dosing Excel.

I'm debating between T5HO and LED.

I ran T5HO on my last low light planted tank, had to use screen to darken it down some, with great success. I'm totally new to LED for planted tanks though. If I go LED I'm currently thinking 2x Finnex Stingrays.

Thoughts or suggestions.

That sounds like a good plan. Might I suggest dirt with a sand cap for substrate? It will ultimately keep your tank low tech and should provide enough nutrients.

With 3 inches of substrate, a pair of Stingrays should do nicely.
