Just arrived today. Did not have much time to play around, but will speed things up soon as my plants are set to hopefully arrive this week. I'll try to post more pics soon.

• Aquaclear 70 w/ AQ 20 impeller and POS Tetra heater inside
• Zoo Med Deep Mini reptile fixture w/ 15w GE 6500k Bulb
• 20oz Paintball CO2
• Flourish, Iron, Potassium (Have no clue where to start)
• Manzanita branch(es)
• TBD Rocks of some type

• Possibly 2 white clouds and 3 crs from 3g picotope

Plants are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Paintball tank might not be here till middle of next week. Should I use excel in the interim?

Here is a very basic layout. Thinking about putting the Blyxa in the left rear corner along with a few rocks (tbd), Moss on wood, Starougyne repens on the right side, Fissiden and RIccia tied to rocks and placed in the mid ground. Keep the front center clear until it grows in.

Don't mind the Styrofoam, that is getting replaced with something to cover up the glass bricks. Think it would look OK with a black board behind it?

Alright I've decided to not be cheap and purchase a "real" Co2 regulator. Currently shopping...

In other news, the tank will be planted and flooded tomorrow. With my Co2 solution still up-in-the-air, should I use Excel in the interim (possibly up to a week)?

I don't plan to have rooted plants in the front where the substrate is most shallow. Instead, I'll tie the Fissidens, Riccia, and possibly other mosses onto small rocks and attempt to strategically place them throughout the foreground.

Updated pics as of today. No Co2 set up yet, but I will dose excel until I figure it out. Light is 15 watt 6500k CFL, 7" from water surface.

Fissidens and Riccia still on their 2x2 mesh which will change soon. Also looking at different type of rocks to use near the base of the manzanita branch.

Need to figure out what to do about the low temps. Hovering around 74 degrees right now with the Tetra heater in the Aquaclear 70 HOB. Wonder if I need to get a different heater in order to keep shrimp? It would need to fit in the HOB.

2nd day update - pardon the smudged tank, these were impromptu pics.
- Added a few more branches
- Upgraded to the 100w Tetra heater - now holding steady around 76-77.
- Still haven't dealt with Fissidens or Riccia

What else should I put in the fuge? I have a fair amount of room left. More foam, ceramic rings, filter floss?

Really bad cell phone pic with paper covering the light's glare. I will get some better ones soon. Using an interim Aquatek regulator until I get my replacement. I put the diffuser in the fuge, with a sponge right above it (although am not sure if that is the best idea).

Everything except the Blyxa is doing well, but I hope that will change since finally getting my CO2 reliably running. I really hope growth picks up. No current issues with Algae. I have some hitchhikers, but no other fauna right now. Possibly thinking about a school of Otos, Sparkling Gouramis, and possibly some shrimp. Any other suggestions?

I tied some fissidens to rocks in the back left, and am harvesting more on a 2x2 mesh. Riccia is messy and multiplying on the surface; I will have to tie it down on some rocks soon. Then again I'm not sure if I intend on keeping the Riccia - we shall see. As soon as the Taiwan Moss grows a bit more I will tie some to the other 2 branches.

Possibly a school of Pygmy Corys since the habitat is somewhat native (I think). I don't want to overstock and also want some shrimp - any advice?
