Which could you prefer to plant? a 36"/18"/24" or a 24"/18"/21" tank?

Both would be same price range, at the moment I'm leaning towards the 65 as I already have a 192 W. 36" light and the oceanic would only have a 65 watter.

A 24" tall aquarium can sometimes be too much unless you have long arms and/or a step ladder. I really like the 36"x18" footprint.

Aqueon has a 50g that has a center brace like the 65g, but it is 18" tall with the same footprint.

A 40 breeder doesn't have a center brace and it is 16" tall with the same footprint.

I'm not trying to talk you out of getting a 65g, I just showing some options.

I have a 65G breeder and the Oceanic cube.

Personally, I like the cube better. It lends itself to a "snap shot" kind of aquascape. A small vignette of what might be a larger aquascape.
