So I currently have a 25 gallon aquarium. I really wanted to get a much larger one, but not too large as I only have a limited amount of room. Would it be worth it to upgrade from my 25 gallon to a 37 gallon?
I have to agree with all of these remarks. I love my 37 but maintenance is a PITA. Especially when i have to trim low plants like DHG and lighting was not easy. I would have liked to go with a 40B but the dimensions of my stand would not allow the depth.Benefits of going to a 37:
You will gain a lot of water volume which would aid stability.
You would gain another 6 inches in length.
The added height would be good if you want angel fish.
Cons:
The height of the tank makes planting and other maintenance jobs harder.
Need more light to reach the bottom due to the height.
I personally like the proportions of the 37 (kind of like watching a TV screen) but you are limited by the 12" depth (the same as the 25). I know I was up to my armpit in water if I had to reach down to the bottom.
My favorite tanks (proportion wise and all around usability) are the 20L, 40 Breeder, and the standard 75.
