Hi,

will 36W T5 white light be sufficient for a 90L tank with valisneria and eleocharis parvula or will I need 36W x 2 ? Also I will use pressurized CO2 and EI method.

I think 72 is WAY to much for a 20+ gal tank. You should be JUST fine with the single T5.

Vals really do not require this much light, but the DHG will and the co2 will help it as well.

I'd go with the double then... if you feel its too much light you can always raise it up a bit.

So its a 20gal TALL..

2 T5No on top of the tank will give you Med lighting.
1 T5Ho on top of the tank will give you Med lighting.

2 T5No 4" above the tank will give you Med lighting.
1 T5Ho 4" above the tank will give you Med lighting.
2 T5Ho 4" above the tank will give you High Ligh.

1 T5Ho 12" above the tank will give you Low lighting.
2 T5Ho 12" above the tank will give you Low lighting.
3 T5Ho 12" above the tank will give you Med Ligh.

Is your tank 90 liters or 90G long?

it has a volume of 90L and it is 58 cm in height

I think the best way to is 72 watts devided by 90L it will give 0.8 watts per littre. As I see from the 2010 AGA Aquascaping Contest most aquariums have lights raning from 0.6-1.2 watts per littre.

My tank is 58cm in height so at 72 watts I dont think the 0.8 watts per littre is very accurate but at least its close to what most aquascapers use.
