The parva will take forever to grow into anything resembling a carpet, I would go with either a marsilea species or lilaeopsis chinensis. I don't have experience with marsilea, but I can say that L. chinensis is great.

if you want something with minimal maintenance, id go with DHG. I have it carpeting a few of my tanks and basically have not to trim it for a year or do anything else besides ferts and water change every now and then.
