30 Gallon Stocking Help

5480 Views 11 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Tank seeker
Hey, so I have a 30 gallon fish tank and am looking to see if I should get more fish. I have a couple of live plants and drift wood with a pair of keyhole cichlid, a bristlenose pleco, and 6 serape tetra. I’ve seen online that the tetras might be happier in a bigger school and was wondering if anyone would know?

It doesn’t look like a 30 gallons ,but I would add real plants before adding more fish, measurements?
it’s 30” x 12” x 18” approximately
It’s actually a 29 gallon but it doesn’t really change anything, you can still add real plants.
ah I see just a little bit smaller, either way if i do add some plants would you say it’s safe to add a couple more tetras to make them happy?

Ya live plants make the environment more safe and comfortable, but don’t over add maybe just add 8 more

8 more tetra or plants?
You can add as much plants as you want, yes 8 tetras of the same species

I recommend java fern and anubias they are great for beginners
okay awesome, thank you!
But both need to be attached to wood and not in the substrate neither need fertiliser but they do benefit from it just something to note
