I doubt it. They will vaguely grow as much as their space allows but that is at the detriment to the animal. Large plecos like this aren't really suitable for the average hobbyist imo. At catfishplanet, the other forum I frequent, we would suggest you house them in a space where they have two body lengths to turn in on the width of the tank and nearly 2m on the length of the tank.
Think of it this way:
Housing a pleco in a 2' wide tank is like housing a corydoras in an 2" wide tank. Does that sound very pleasant? Of course this analogy breaks down with small fish ie a 4" wide tank isn't sufficient for a corydoras but it more or less illustrates how uncomfortable an insufficiently wide tank would be.
