First tank journal! Wanted a simple tank for the office and maybe some shrimp in future. All new plants for me so I'm not even sure they all grow in low tech.

I started with 3 gal Mr. Aqua bow front tank.

Substrate: Flourite with liquid leondarite(I incorrectly bought) and some lava rock and then topped with ada aquasoil.

Light: 13 w CFL (FUGERAY WAS GREAT and I moved it to another 3 gal I'm starting at home)

Filter and CO2 : None

Plants: staurogyne repens, bacopa caroliniana, bacopa madagascariensis, bacopa lanigera, fissidens

inhabitants: 5 least killifish and 15 yellow neo, 1 malawai shrimp, 2 pond snail and 1 rams horn snail

Fert: occasional seachem comprehensive and iron or as needed.

I bought fugeray clip on. Nice looking. We'll see how everything grows.

Had a bit of potassium def with the lanigera now corrected. Madagascariensis not doing too well. All others growing well. A little bit of algae on glass but I'm going to let the snails and shrimp take care of it.

2 Baby least killifish. No new shrimp.

failed betta experiment

I thought the tank needed more color and added a betta. I realize they may go after some shrimp but this beta got stuck in cholla wood which was lodged against the glass. His target also was stuck but alive.

Moved betta to his own bowl.

Any suggestions on non schooling colorful fish for small tank?

Made a few changes in the tank just because I can't help it. Moved some stuff around. Added a sponge filter and went back to CFL bulb. the Fugeray is now on a 3 gal at home.

Added 3 dwarf cories and 5 chili rasboras and took out all the least kilifish except one that is exceptionally good at hiding when I come around. The cories and rasboras are great and makes the tank much more interesting!

Repopulated my yellow shrimps and added Alternanthera Reineckii Mini and cryptocoryne petchii pink
