Recently lost my 3yo male Betta Lunar and am looking for ideas to for his tank after I clean, set-up and cycle it.

Tank Details
3.5 Gallon - Semi Circle. Heated, Lighted and Filtered.
  • Aquascape (will change slightly)
  • River Stone and Flourite Black Sand Substrate
  • (1) Anubias Nana rooted to a 6" piece of driftwood
  • Some Vallisneria Italian Grass

Stocking Thoughts
  1. Solo Male Betta
  2. Male Betta and (4?) Cherry Shrimp (worried about shrimp being eaten)
  3. (4?) Shrimp and (2?) Dwarf Frogs
  4. Open to suggestions

What you y'all think? Are my ideas insane, poorly thought out, amazing and any of them will work?!?

Thanks for you time.

I wouldn't do 3. 2 might work, if you add the shrimp first. It's always dependent on the fish.

I'd just do a shrimp colony. And maybe a mystery snail as well.
I like the shrimp colony idea. How many would you add to a tank this size?

I rescaped it over the weekend. Attached is the new set-up.

Subrate is now Aquasolum Black Humate.
