Posted this question in my journal, but no responses so its probably better to ask here.

Do I have enough light? Maybe add another T5NO light strip?

40b tank (Japanese tank size 90cmx45cmx45cm)
2x 36" T5NO
DIY light stand, no individual reflectors
DIY CO2
Java Ferns
Amazon Swords
Anubias Nana
Jungle Vale (I think)
Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis (I think)

The par at the substrate should be okay, but the coverage from front to back of the tank probably is not. Spacing out a 2nd T5 NO should be good, but it will still be low-medium light.

Your tank looks great btw

I think with the diy co2 you will be fine as your list of plants are primarily low light.

I believe with the right photo-period, co2 and basic maintenance you will be fine. its a 40B

Try it like it is for a while.

If after a bit you dont get the growth you want then add another t5no light

Thanks, I didn't think about spreading out the lights. Got a bunch of extra wood laying around, I think I can throw something togther.

I see how it goes, but I'll be sure and make enough room for an extra light while building the light new stand.
