2nd hand metal halide

hi all,
need your views on 2nd hand metal halide set , used for a few years .
Is it performance still good if i just change the MH bulb . Will it be as good as a new set ? or do i need to change the E-ballast also?

If you changed the bulb, I wouldn't worry about the ballast. Any degradation in performance would be negligible.
